Bach - Adagio In C Minor

Not a huge fan of Greek God Yanni and his flowing hair, but this music composed by Bach and played by Yanni's orchestra, just kills me with its haunting beauty!

The oboe solo at 1:35 brings tears to my eyes.....

Be sure to check out Vasudha's moodboard video on her blog. I had heard this music many times before but never knew what it was. And then I heard this music again on her blog....and she finally solved the mystery for me.

Usually Western music doesn't evoke strong emotions in me, but this piece comes close. M.S.Subbualaksmi's kaatre ni lay varum geetham or any of Anand's songs can make it pour! Another Western classical piece from
Dvorak- songs my mother taught me is incredibly haunting and some how I feel it reflects the the hard life of poor/rural women of India. My 2 cents!
Is this piece by Mozart or Bach?

You're welcome Vasudha.
@ Anon: Any kind of music will move me if it has the right feeling to it. Some of my absolute favorites are Edvard Grieg's morning; Ave Maria; Mendelssohn's Fingals Cave, Mozart's requiem; Brahms Symphony No 3 and 4; MSS's Kaatri Ni Lay and her morning Suprabhatam; then this Bengali song from this post http://saffronandsilk.blogspot.com/2011/06/music-and-makeovers.html. Its not really the language that matters I guess, its the feeling and pathos in the music.

I never cared for Yanni till a few years back....now I love his music. It's passionate and moving. What's not to love!
