Saffron and Silk Headquarters have shifted!

The S&S HQ has moved, I have a new office space.....inspired by Priya's post, I was compelled to re-evaluate my official blogging HQ and make drastic changes! No more sitting on the sofa with the laptop perched precariously on my lap, and then it getting so overheated I had to move it to the coffee table before my insides got fried, and then sit on a pillow on the floor....then hunch over and type, ergonomic blasphemy!! Of course to make the move I needed my hubby's help....so I had to convince him that a better blogging station would make for better blog posts, and consequently more satisfied readers, which would translate to positive comments and a happier me and therefore..a happier husband! OK, so maybe he didn't need that much convincing, but it did take a bit of pleading! And I had the perfect reason.....a new Apple computer (which should be waiting for me in California in when I get there in 2 weeks, yay!) needs a better home than a cooling pad on the coffee table! Plus, he has been wanting me to start a blog on his mother - who was an amazing woman...compassionate mother, singer, dancer, actress - which I said I could only do if I had a comfortable blogging station. I think all this perfectly logical reasoning touched his perfectly logical engineering mind and sort of clinched it.
So now instead of sitting here and blogging.....

I blog here...! Nice huh? Its a corner of our family room upstairs, but I have to be careful cos if back out of my chair too rapidly I will go hurtling down the spiral staircase into the library......!
The essentials...family pic, jar of pens and pencils, moneyplant.....
A closer look
Some yummy almond anise biscotti....
....for the times when my sugar starved brain has hit a blogging wall!!

I admit, not as nice and fancy as Priya's, but slowly I plan to expand and decorate...baby steps, baby steps!

Nice corner to work and perfect snacks to go by.....I would have had to click an empty jar if they were here :)

Lovely space Kamini. I love the expanse of your desk. There's certainly more space for more jars of biscotti..did you bake those?

Great job!

Ha ha Rekha...the husband and dog have been attacking the biscotti. I am allowing myself one a day! Sharon - no, didn't bake those, my freakish health concious conscience won't let me....a friend brougth a HUGE jar of them back for us from the US. What you see is about a fifth of the jar!! The rest is put away inside.

Its gorgeous. But you can't improve on the quality of your posts from here. They are perfect.

Awesome! The biscotti jar is a good idea - I think if I did that, though, I'd eat the whole jar in five minutes without even noticing, hehe.

Also, please don't fall down the stairs in your chair! The mental image is hilarious in a cartoon kind of way, but not so much in real life, lol. ;)

Laura....you're right, it would be pretty hilarious and pretty painful too! You will know what I mean exactly if you look at this post:

See the second pic of the spiral staircase and where the top step ends? That's where I am sitting right now....

oh Kamini... this is gorgeous.. I think you need a jar of chocolates as well... huuummm... maybe I should send a box of chokies your way!! :-)

I dont think I'll ever have an office space.. my kids would abandon me.. They think I spend too much time at work and too much time at home doing office work.. I only blog.. after the kids are tucked in bed... Imagine??!! What a sad life na?? :-(

I stopped by to read your post and was surprised to see my name-thanks, I am glad you liked my room :). I liked your former and new blogging headquarters. The spiral staircase may be a nearby hazard :) but it looks so good that I would be willing to take the risk! Have a great day, Kamini and really hope we can meet up during your visit here.
