Facelift

What do you think? Of the new blog header? I was getting a bit tired of the old one, so did some messing around on the computer yesterday.....!

This was the old one.....

and compared to it, the new one looks too colorful, almost distracting...(it was, but not any more, cos I changed it based on customer feedback :-)

Tell me readers, what do you think? Keep it, toss it?

Hate to be the party pooper but somehow the pics and the writing upfront, together, is distracting.....I am not paying attention to either. Both need to get the proper attention.

Yes I totally agree with soni. Together they didn't fall into place and is distracting.

Soni....that was my thought exactly! Shanthi - you're flip flopping.....Ok so lets get a few more votes in. Maybe the image above and the writing below? or vice versa?

I prefer this one too. I don't find the writing on the photos distracting actually, I quite like the effect.

I like the picture bar quite a bit! What is that font called? That's really neat.

My two cents...

Firstly if YOU LOVE it, then keep it because primarily you are doing it for yourself. You are the one who is going to look at it day and night when you make a post or make changes, upload photos, read responses etc etc.

So as shakespear says " Be honest to yourself, and then it follows as night the day, thou cannost then be false to any man"

For us as readers any change especially the visual one will take a little time to accept and getting used to.

Secondly instead of putting three tiny pictures how about putting one big picture. The picture of your desk where your creativity comes alive. That is mine and most reader's favorite spot in your house. The lighting, the little snack tub, brushes, backwall with inspirational pictures, a little plant, window etc etc, See I am writing all this from memory because that photo has been etched in my mind. Haven't looked at that picture in ages but that post was brilliant.

Ai ai ai.....I don't know what to do.... :-( It's like those surveys...for every one person that says "yes" there is one who says "no"!!!!!
Vinita - I LOVE your idea, may have to go with it, one big pic of S and S HQ on the left side, with all the writing on the right...?

Vinita said...

Umm.. well I was thinking more like as it is now except for the change of picture. That is header, underneath it the writing, and below that the picture of your desk.

I cannot visualize your option, which is picture to the left and writing to the side, so lets try both and see which is more appealing.. to you as a blogger and to me/us as readers. Then by 1st Feb new HQ.Yay!!!

Love this one....three pics also works as they are so much your signature. The colors, the inspiration desk, your artwork... all these make S and S and I have often scrolled down to view them periodically. As Vinita said....we'll wait for Feb 1st for the new unveiling.....in the meantime play around as much as you can, don't know when the perfect pic. emerges.

I love most of this one - the saffron and silk font is great, as are the 3 pics on top.

the description font however is not really kind to the eyes, even tho it looks nice.
