Saffron and Silk Saris!

Yes, that's the line of a new sari collection, and No, not launched by me! I almost keeled over in surprise when this email invite from Exclusively.in came rolling into my inbox......

If I ever launched a line of saris, it would be raw silk and cotton blends with traditional temple designs, vibrant solid colors with very understated details, and simple patterns. Or cotton block printed saris with classic color combinations.....red and mustard, black and white, saffron and yellow.....

I would stay away from dark pink net with gold sequins and plastic stud embellishments...yes, you heard me right - plastic!!
crepe saris with green paisley pattern velvet applique

magenta net with gold sequin clusters and crystals

black net with multi colored embroidered continuous rose and lotus patterns

and last but not least, cerise pink net with gold thread, sequins, studs and crystals!!!

Not that I have anything against any of these saris, but definitely not my style, so I was a bit amused that it's name was similar to my blog. Unfortunately I don't know where one can buy these, since I got them as an e mail invite to view the collection from Exclusively.in, but if you are desperate for one of these beauties, I am sure you can contact them and they will point you in the right direction....!

I agree with you K- I bought a bling sari only once because I was forced to and I ensured its black with copper work. And I second Anpu :)

Nice sarees but please put me on your list when you launch a cotton saree store :)

I love your style in sarees....it's so hard to find simple and elegant stuff these days.

These remind me of the saas bahu serials type of sarees.

Oh dear I know what you mean:-) I rarely wear saris much to my husbands and mom's dismay. However, when I do...the bling bling is not for me!!!

I guess there must be a market for these kinds of blingy saris!
My3 - will let you know when my sari line takes off ;-)

Pretty sarees. Remind me of the ones I bought for my wedding and never wore them :-(

Oh yes I can never wear such bling...I prefer handlooms and sober stuff ...and silk cotton blends are right up my alley...I just bought one today morning before running to work....and waiting eagerly to get back home to feel it.....
I buy such simple stuff from an unpretentious store in Marredpally....am sure you'd like it
