Aerial dancing with Project Bandaloop

Golconda fort in Hyderabad is breathtaking! It is a magnificent monument, grand and majestic and fortunately preserved brilliantly in spite of being more than 4 centuries old. I have been to the fort countless times, with every relative visiting Hyderabad for the first time, and each time I go I marvel at it.

Now lets talk about Project Bandaloop! Banda what you say? Yes, thats their name and they are a incredible aerial dancing troupe, out of Oakland, California. And last week, they performed a mind blowing aerial dance with the Golconda fort as their backdrop! Their mind numbing aerial twists and somersaults, their jaw dropping spins and their "on the edge of your seat" aerial gymnastic had the audience gasping! I so wish I had gone but my allergies kept me from going anywhere, and it was a free performance to boot!

Here are some images of their daily practice sessions while they were here last week! The absolutely gorgeous, tightly toned women remind me of Turkish whirling dervishes and Spanish flamenco dancers, with their grace and fluidity. These pics will amaze you.......

You can read more about them here, and click on the link below to see a video of their aerial dancing:

Good God, Kamini, why didn't these things happen when I was there, all those years? :(
Can only imagine how spectacular it might have been to watch them. Lucky, lucky you :)
