But the chances of my ever getting my hands on this original are about 0%, so I took matters into my own hands, literally! And tried to copy it....with a few small changes, not out of choice, but more due to lack of technique!!
Not anything nearly as gorgeous as the original, but for about 800 bucks for the canvas, 4-5 hrs of work and a ton of fun, I'll take it! I hope Vishal Misra will not mind, after all imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery!

Wow Kamini! That was well attempted. You are one creative woman...
Glad to know someone like you. Inspired! :)
awesome work Kamini...love the colours. am sure the artist would be elated to see such an imitation.
between was just checking your weekend wrap up and again am just dreaming of having a gorgeous place like yours...awesome.
awesome!! great work Kamini!
LOVE it! Loved the painting on SHP, and I love your rendition even more. Now I'm tempted to pick up my brushes as well (escapism---I need to deal with a mountain of paperwork right now, so I'll obviously run to the nearest release possible!)
Very beautiful...loved it..its always a treat to see your creative work!
I love it! I cant wait to see how you have teamed it up in your home with other gorgeous things. Two thumps up.
I agree with Gagan- This is a beautiful rendition. I am sure Vishal Misra proud! Also, didn't you want to paint his Ganeshas too? Next project?
Mishra's agent will be soon dialing your no:)
oh, kickass!! This reminds me of art college days, anything halfway decent- copy copy copy!!! There is no better way to learn & get better & like you said, have TONS of fun! Love the way you share your art with us :)
so did you paint the Ganesha's too?
MAS - no I have not yet but I would like to. If not copy, at least use them as inspiration. I know Vishal Misra belongs to the MAS!
