Friend, architect, photographer Grant Wilds

I would like to introduce you to a very good friend of mine, Grant Wilds. Grant and I worked on the same design team at Callison, while designing Nordstrom stores in California and Dallas! Grant was a great teammate, is a wonderful friend and a big, as well as big hearted guy....what I call a gentle giant! Things got a bit rough a couple of years back with the rotten economy and Grant found himself out of a job......but very often I have found that sometimes this is a blessing in disguise. It gives you time to ponder and a chance to reevaluate your life and your career, and sure enough, with lots of time on his hands, Grant took up his hobby with a passion - photography!  An avid road traveller, he spends a lot of time driving along the coast of the Pacific Northwest - which, for those of you who have never seen it, is an absolutely gorgeous place! Mountains, rivers, trees, forests, parks, beaches, surf, waves, sand dunes, orcas, sunrises and sunsets....its a photographer's dream come true!

Here are some of the incredible pictures he has taken on these trips.....some pics of his backyard are also included, an enthusiastic gardener that he is! I am realising more and more, that having a great camera is simply not enough....you need a keen eye for composition and subject, and to be able to see the photographic potential in the most dreary of subjects! Someone like me would simply pass by a tree with withered foliage while people like Grant will capture an amazing picture of it......and remind us once again in the beauty of things past their time!

Thanks for sharing these pics, Grant! Enjoy.....!

Wow.. Beautiful!
Every one of these photos talk of your friend's love for nature. There are so many wonders in nature we fail to appreciate in our daily life... till we see the same through a camera lens.
